The Deutsche Boerse Group-owned venue said NinjaTrader’s European clients can now trade Eurex's most actively traded derivatives, including EURO STOXX 50, DAX equity index futures and Euro-BUND fixed income futures.

Eurex on Monday said that the launch is part of a larger strategic partnership between Deutsche Boerse Group and Kraken, also owned by Payward, aimed at giving professional and retail traders unified access across traditional and digital asset markets.

The collaboration follows the integration of the German exchange group’s 360T forex liquidity into Kraken and the launch of xStocks on the 360X digital asset platform, Eurex said, adding that NinjaTrader is now available to customers across 30 countries throughout the EU/EEA.

Robert Booij (pictured), chief executive of Eurex, said: "By connecting our infrastructure with Kraken's innovative platforms, we are opening up our benchmark products to a new generation of investors and actively shaping the future of financial markets.”

Eurex said the expansion marks the first step in a larger roadmap that will deepen the partnership between Eurex, Kraken and NinjaTrader.

"Traders increasingly work across digital and traditional assets and need unified accounts and risk frameworks to manage those positions in one place," said John Palmer, global head of Derivatives at Kraken.

"The convergence of crypto and traditional finance pairs the regulated track record and distribution of established markets with the round-the-clock trading and settlement of digital assets."

The German-based European derivatives exchange this month reported trading volumes for May at 172.9 million contracts, a 13% year-on-year increase from 152.7 million lots the same time last year.

The firms expect further product expansion between Eurex and Kraken, including MSCI index futures; global rollout of Eurex’s benchmark products through Kraken; and joint development of a range of innovative new derivatives, designed for Kraken's client base, listed on Eurex, according to a statement.

"When we launched across Europe earlier this year, we brought our 20+ years of futures-native infrastructure to the market for the first time. This launch with Eurex is a direct expression of that same commitment by adding Europe's own benchmark derivatives to NinjaTrader’s platform and infrastructure,” said Chris Tripp, general manager, NinjaTrader International.

NinjaTrader in March launched an infrastructure platform ‘NinjaTrader Connect’ to enable fintechs, brokers and trading platforms to offer their own regulated futures and prediction markets platforms.
