UK to pilot DIGIT issuance in Q1 2027 along with HSBC, LSEG

Chancellor of the UK Exchequer Rachel Reeves said the first transaction of Digital Gilt Instrument (DIGIT) issuance will take place in the first quarter of 2027 on HSBC’s digital securities depository, HSBC Orion, following which the government will plan for further issuances.
