ESMA observes stable EU carbon market despite Middle East conflict

European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA) said EU Emission Allowance (EUA) trading activity remained broadly stable and saw 13.8 billion tonnes of CO2-equivalent emissions exchanged across 4.4 million transactions in 2025.
