CME plans hockey futures on FutureSports NHL benchmark

Chicago-based index provider FutureSports and the National Hockey League (NHL) have partnered to support the launch of what the companies said would be the world's first index-based hockey futures contracts, with CME Group planning to list monthly and quarterly cash-settled derivatives ahead of the 2026-27 NHL season, subject to regulatory approval.
