The David Setters Trophy, the annual cricket tournament that raises funds for the Motor Neurone Disease (MND) Association, will be contested for a fifth time on Friday June 24 at the HAC cricket ground in the City of London.
Competing this year are defending champions Intercontinental Exchange, led by ICE global head of rates and cricket guru Steve Hamilton (pictured), local favourites the London Metal Exchange, KRM22, Euronext, StoneX Group Inc and Verne Global, the data center firm making its first appearance.
Hamilton said: "We're looking forward to defending our title and raising more money for the Motor Neurone Disease Association."
The event, which began in 2017 and skipped 2020 due to the pandemic, has so far raised over £125,000 for the MND Association, including over £25,000 in 2021.
The trophy is named after David Setters, the popular derivatives expert who has in recent years dedicated himself to raising money to fund research into MND after discovering he has the disease.
Dave has been tireless in raising awareness about MND and in supporting efforts that lead to a cure and better care for people living with MND. He established City Against MND and works closely with the MND Association. Dave is also a Founding Trustee of Futures for Kids, the industry's charity.
Dave’s entire career has been spent in the City where he has been a long time champion of the Futures & Options markets. He is passionate about sport playing rugby at school and University before playing football for Old Reigatians AFC until his early 50s. His other passion, aside from Manchester United, is cricket.
