The FFK Virtual Fun Run aims to draw upon the industry’s “strong spirit of community and network”
Futures For Kids has challenged patrons to undertake a walk, run or cycle to raise much-needed funds for the futures industry’s charity.
The charity has launched the FFK Virtual Fun Run to draw upon the industry’s “strong spirit of community and network” and engage supporters currently on lockdown because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The virtual event replaces the annual FFK Fun Run due to take place in June but the charity hopes that, by including a range of activities, the virtual event will attract more participants.
Patrons have been asked to make a donation to FFK and then complete a 5k or 10k run or walk, or a cycle ride (even on a stationary exercise bike) of 15k between the dates of April 24 and May 10.
To introduce an element of competition, FFK has said participants can enter a virtual race by submitting their times (evidence is required) and the charity will announce the winners and post the results on its website shortly after May 10.
The Narcissists among you are invited to post pictures of yourselves in your respective outfits to social media tagging @FuturesForKids and using the hashtag #ffkvirtualrun2020.
FFK, which helps fund a range of UK and international children’s charities, said fund-raising is crucial at the moment because many of its underlying charities have seen funds dry-up because events have been cancelled due to the pandemic.
