Ex-CME marketing exec walks for MND

Former NLX and CME executive Thom Lant is walking 300 miles over 15 days to raise funds for the City Against Motor Neurone Disease Network.

Lant is following the route of the 1930’s protest march, the Jarrow March from Jarrow in North East England to London. He started the March on Monday and is currently in Leeds having started the walk on Monday.  

The walk will take 15 days, the original march took 27 days, finishing in London on Monday 20 March.

The City Against MND Network was established by David Setters to support those working in and around the City of London who have been affected by Motor Neurone Disease and to help find a cure and improve care for those living with it.

“I want to do something to support all the great work my friend Dave Setters, who has MND, is doing through his City Against MND Network”, said Lant. “Dave works tirelessly to raise thousands for various charities and is an inspiration in so many ways.”

Setters said: “So many people are generously giving their time and money to support MND, yet there is so much more that can and needs to be done.

“I was delighted when Thom told me he wanted to help by doing the Jarrow March. Since my diagnosis I have made many friends in the MND community and they will be along the route to cheer him on.”

Lant added: “It is great to see the futures and options community support the MND Network and generously get behind my challenge to raise money so we can beat MND. The target is £3000 and it would be great to beat that.”

The end of the walk will be 5pm on Monday 20 March at the Lamb Tavern in Leadenhall Market, City of London.
