ABN Amro Clearing is awarded the title of Prop Traders’ Clearing Firm of the Year for the third year running following an overwhelming vote of confidence from its global client base.
Senior executives at over 80 prop trading firms across the world voted in this year’s poll with ABN Amro Clearing the choice of the majority.
Respondents to the survey praised the company’s risk model and customer service with its deep understanding of the specific needs of the market as a particular strength.
“They are always supportive and are outstanding in finding solutions to our needs. They are flexible and always ready to walk the extra mile,” was a typical response.
According to Martin Frewer, global director, principal trading groups at ABN Amro Clearing, this understanding of the client business stems from a long standing specialism in the proprietary trading market.
“A lot of our team have been dealing with this client segment for a long time so understand the needs of this particular client base. We speak to a huge cross section of clients across the various asset classes so have extensive experience.” he says.
ABN Amro Clearing targets high volume, delta neutral, arbitrage clients and its risk model is a key attraction for these types of firms.
Built over 30 years of experience, the regulated risk engine correlates different tradable instruments globally.
“The risk model was born in the 1980s in Amsterdam when the European Options Exchange and stock market were on different sides of the road. We were among the first to properly correlate the two markets,” says Frewer.
While ABN Amro Clearing’s offering was grown out of the Dutch market, today it has a global client base clearing over 16 million trades per day on 90 of the world’s leading exchanges across Europe, the Americas and Asia Pacific.
