Training firm ZISHI Group completed on Thursday its 15 mile charity walk to raise vital funds for a hospice, leaving the project tantalisingly close to its fundraising target.
The ZISHI team, comprising a dozen staff including chief commercial officer Danny Langley and global head of professional services Robert Russell, walked 15 miles from Tower Bridge to Putney Bridge zig-zagging the Thames via its many bridges.
Progress was brisk despite the occasional downpour and the team completed the trip in good shape and under five hours before a well-earned drink in a warm, riverside pub at Putney.
The walk is raising money for the Willen Hospice which provides free palliative care to adults in Milton Keynes and the surrounding area, where some ZISHI staff live.
The Willen Hospice, which celebrates this year 50 years since its foundation, currently offers free palliative care to over 1,000 patients, of which 300 are cared for at the hospice and 700 are supported at home.
Only 15% of the hospice’s running costs are met by ongoing NHS funding so the facility is largely reliant on contributions from activities like the ZISHI fund-raising walk.
The team’s valiant efforts have so far raised £2,125 for the hospice, just short of their target of £2,500 so if you would like to help them reach their target by making a donation, please click here: https://www.justgiving.com/page/zishi-willen-hospice-sept-24
