DTCC's Chris Childs believes his firm's international coverage gives it a unique insight into the G20's global regulatory oversight
To mark DTCC winning the FOW International Trade Repository of the Year award, Chris Childs, DTCC Managing Director, Head of Repository and Derivatives Services and Chief Executive Officer and President, DTCC Deriv/SERV LLC, considers the challenges facing the global reporting firm.
In an exclusive interview Childs argues that, while there are a lot of firms that deal in a single jurisdiction, the vast majority of the transaction volume comes from a few dealers that trade and report globally.
DTCC’s global approach therefore helps these global clients deal with the nuances of individual jurisdictions and meet their local regulatory requirements.
Childs describes how the DTCC’s global approach enables it to have a holistic view of the G20 commitments so as the rules change, the DTCC is in a unique position to provide feedback to regulators and lobby on behalf of market participants for greater global consistency.
