The DTCC Data Repository (Singapore) won the Asia Capital Markets award for regulatory reporting in 2020
Asian remains a highly diverse market comprising a broad range of clients and regulatory regimes, the DTCC has said as it claimed the FOW Asia Capital Markets Award for regulatory reporting.
Speaking in an exclusive interview with Global Investor, Oliver Williams, chief executive officer of DTCC Data Repository (Singapore), said Asia remains a multi-faceted market.
He said: “Asia is a diverse part of the world and we see that played out in the trade reporting space as well. We have a whole range of different players here."
Williams said clients range from small local firms to regional players and global institutions.
“We have the local industry that needs to be reporting but we also have global players here that are caught by the global regulation. We also see Asian banks that are reporting with us in Asia but are also very active across the globe.”
And this diversity is also reflected in the approaches taken by the different market authorities.
Williams said: “Similarly, with regulators, there is a real mix. The are local regulators that have unique regimes and their own way of doing things and we see others that are globally minded and active.”
Williams’ comments came as the post-trade giant claimed the regulatory reporting award in the FOW Asia Capital Markets Awards for 2020.
