SGX to list metal futures using LME pricing

The Singapore Exchange plans to introduce mini monthly metals futures contracts, beginning in the first quarter of 2011.

They will be cash-settled against prices from the London Metal Exchange.

SGX intends to begin with non-ferrous metals such as copper and zinc, and add steel billet derivatives later, subject to regulatory approval. Trading and clearing will take place at SGX.
