“Shaun brings to Nomura a wealth of expertise in oil markets, especially in Asian oil markets. We look forward to his contribution as we continue to build our commodities platform in the region,” said Brecker in a statement.

In January, the bank hired Iain Lawson from Citigroup as head of commodities structuring for the same region. Lawson started his career as a physical oil trader at Shell.
