CME secures Canadian oil index swap rights

CME Group has bought the right to offer cleared over the counter swaps based on Net Energy’s Canadian Daily Index for Western Canadian Select Heavy grade crude oil. The group will offer cash-settled swaps on its Nymex trading floor, with clearing through its ClearPort clearing service

The bourse plans to offer a set of flexible clearing services open to OTC market participants. Trading and clearing of the contracts is scheduled to begin in the second quarter.
