The dark fibre connection provides front, middle and back office services, managed hosting, low latency market data and connectivity to the community of high frequency traders and brokers in Interxion’s data centres.

The Options Pipe platform is used by hedge funds, proprietary traders, private equity firms, investment banks and brokerages in North America, Europe and Asia.

Group managing director of Interxion Anthony Foy said: “Our equidistance to the most important liquidity markets and the ability to deliver sub-millisecond access to all London-based trading venues, combined with a broad choice of low latency networks and access to technology providers such as Options IT, makes Interxion a compelling proposition for capital market participants.”

Nigel Kneafsey, chief executive of Options IT, said: “Providing the closest proximity and lowest latency access to the markets in which our clients execute their trading strategies is a primary focus and competitive differentiator for our Options Pipe services.”

Separately, Interxion is to host a London Access Point (Lonap) terminal in its City of London data centre. The move enables Interxion’s customers to peer directly with Lonap’s member base.

Lonap is a layer two internet exchange point providing the physical infrastructure and connections for around 100 members to exchange traffic with each other.
