LCH.Clearnet chairman retires, to be replaced by year end

06 November 2009

Chris Tupker, 65, chairman of LCH.Clearnet, is to retire at the end of the year. He was appointed chairman of the clearing house in July 2006 when his predecessor, Gérard de la Martinière, stepped down. From March 2000 he had been chairman of Brussels-based Euroclear. Before that Tupker was chief operating officer of ABN Amro’s investment bank.

LCH.Clearnet said the search for Tupker’s replacement had already begun with the formation of a search committee. The clearing house said it hoped to name a replacement before the end of the year.
