Nasdaq OMX brings new Norwegian equity derivatives

06 October 2009

Nasdaq OMX Nordic has launched a new portfolio of Norwegian derivatives. They initially include 15 single stock derivatives and contracts based on a new Nasdaq OMX index, the OMX Oslo 20, which includes the 20 most traded shares on Oslo Børs.

The exchange said the new portfolio would enable its existing members to continue trading in Norwegian derivatives through one pan-Nordic trading platform. Earlier this year Nasdaq OMX launched trading in Norwegian equities.

The move follows Oslo Børs’s decision to terminate its agreement with Nasdaq OMX, which had allowed the Børs’s members to trade Nordic derivatives on Nasdaq OMX and vice versa.
