Nasdaq OMX and BM&F Bovespa discuss cash market partnership

06 October 2009

Nasdaq OMX and BM&F Bovespa have entered exclusive 60 day talks on a potential strategic, commercial and technological partnership. It could entail order routing between the exchanges’ cash markets, mutual distribution of data, and technology cooperation.

BM&F Bovespa may also gain the right to offer publicly traded Brazilian companies products and services developed by Nasdaq OMX.

A spokesperson for BM&F Bovespa in São Paulo declined to say whether the talks would touch on derivatives.
