CFTC has delayed enforcement on variation margin rules until September 1
The UK financial regulator has said it
will take a pragmatic approach to the March 1 deadline for the
variation margin rules after the US regulator delayed the
enforcement of the rules by six months.
New rules requiring banks to give-up
variation margin for their non-cleared swaps become law across
Europe on March 1 despite the US regulator postponing on
Tuesday its equivalent rules until the start of September.
