Merc said trading in the third quarter was the lowest of any quarter this year
CME Group’s third quarter
income rose a third as a tax cut and lower costs helped wipe
out the impact of slower trading dragging down the
Merc’s revenue for the quarter.
The Chicago-based exchange giant said in a
statement on Thursday its net income for the three months to
the end of September was $472.8m, 31.4% up on the $359.9m in
the equivalent period last year.
