The firms said they will collaborate to withstand cost pressures from regulation
Two of Europe's top post-trade market
structure players have said they are going to work together on
regulatory initiatives from next year.
Swiss SIX Securities Service and
Luxembourg-based Clearstream said on Friday they are looking to
collaborate in the face of an increasingly costly regulatory
The firms are mainly looking at
streamlining services in securities settlement and securities
services outside of Switzerland. According to SIX Securities
services, the post-trade arm of the Swiss Exchange, the
increasing cost of regulation and compliance has made it
essential for financial market infrastructures to move towards
market consolidation and rationalisation.
