European collateral rules under Emir will come into effect in December
New collateral management regulations are
set to deliver a double whammy of increased collateral
requirements in a much shorter time window, a top
infrastructure provider has warned.
The European Market Infrastructure
Regulation, Dodd-Frank and Basel III rules will in combination
have a massive impact of firms' collateral management
processes, according the Depository Trust & Clearing
Under the new rules, firms will have to
exchange initial margin where they didn’t before,
and process more variation margin calls due to lower
thresholds, as well as shorten the collateral settlement
