US options exchange CBOE reports 15% rise in average daily volume for the month
Paris-based exchange operator Euronext and
inter-dealer broker Icap are the first markets to report
year-on-year trading volumes lower in June as US giants the
Chicago Board of Exchange and the Chicago Mercantile Exchange
reported double-digit growth for last month.
The average daily volume on Euronext's
equity index derivatives was down 14.4% to 244,761 contracts in
June, while the average daily volume on individual equity
derivatives saw a 3.8% rise to 251,919 contracts.
Trading in commodity derivatives decreased
by 7.6% compared to the same month last year, with an average
daily volume of 56,195 contracts per day.
