The CFTC and EC agreed equivalence between EU and US CCPs in March
The Chicago Mercantile Exchange was late
on Tuesday named as the first US approved central counterparty
by Esma, more than two years after filing its application with
the European regulator.
The European Securities and Markets
Authority (Esma) added the CME to its list of approved third
country central counterparties (CCPs) on June 13.
The list includes all CCPs that are
approved to offer services and activities in the European Union
