Carsten Kengeter said Europe has been left behind by US and Asia
The chief executive of Deutsche Boerse has
said the planned merger between the German exchange and the LSE
Group will help Europe regain a seat at the top table of world
Carsten Kengeter, the head of Deutsche
Boerse, said on a panel of exchange chief execs on Tuesday that
growth by US and Asian markets has meant that European
exchanges have been left behind.
"If you look around the world, you have to
notice US and Asian exchanges have grown significantly over the
last few years. They have made very successful progress. The
bulk of European exchanges have not been able to keep up."
