Weekly FTSE 100 options are the first of its kind in Britain
The London Stock Exchange said it is
targeting buy side firms with its new weekly options based on
the FTSE 100 Index.
"The rest of the index products are quite
standard and widely used. The weekly options are targeting
several types of investors; we want to appeal to the buy-side
community because they have become more sophisticated in their
trading strategy, but also to market makers and liquidity
providers," Nic Bertrand, the London Stock Exchange's head of
equity and derivatives market, told FOW.
