Key market sectors have increased preparation for Emir since the start of 2016
There has been a marked increase in asset
management firms and regional banks ramping up their focus on
prep work for the impending clearing mandate in Europe since
the start of the year, with the looming implementation date a
key driver in increasing awareness.
"Since the beginning of the year there has
been a good uptick in preparation for the new landscape, with
more talks and work on getting a clearing framework in place
ahead of the mandate," Nick Chaudhry, head of over-the-counter
clearing at Commerzbank Corporates & Markets, told FOW.
