Company run by former Icap e-broking head pledged to continue testing
Tech start-up R3 said on Thursday it has
trialed five distinct blockchain technologies with 40 banks
testing fixed income contracts.
In the trial, the banks
connected to R3-managed private blockchain or distributed
ledger technologies and evaluated the strengths and weaknesses
of each version by running smart contracts programmed to
facilitate issuance, secondary trading and redemption of
commercial paper, the firm said in a statement.
