US exchange said Tuesday it has until March 29 to launch a rival offer for LSE
US exchange giant the Intercontinental
Exchange has taken the unusual step of saying it may bid for
the London Stock Exchange Group following a media report that
it is considering the move.
The exchange, run by chief executive
Jeffrey Sprecher, said it has not made an approach to the LSE
board and no decision has been made yet whether ICE will make
an offer but it has until March 29 to make a move if it chooses
to do so.
