The relevant soybean shipping stations are located on the flooded Illinois River
The Chicago Mercantile Exchange
Group has declared force majeure for soybean shipping stations
located along the Illinois River, following an extensive period
of flooding which has left the majority of facilities unable to
take delivery and load crops.
In a note to clients late on Monday, the
group said that Rule 701 – The Declaration of Force
Majeure – is effective immediately and will remain in
place until further notice.
