Exchange plans to use JPX’s new derivatives platform from September
The Tokyo Commodity Exchange has committed
to ramp up work on its first electricity futures market ahead
of a possible launch by March 2017.
"We have our sights fixed on retail
electric power deregulation, which will expand this April,"
said president and CEO of Tocom, Takamichi Hamada, on Monday,
with the exchange working to create the new electricity futures
market "before the end of fiscal 2016 (March, 2017)".
