Europe's Mifid II implementation looks set to be pushed back to early 2018
The European Securities and Markets
Authority (Esma) published on Friday the latest batch of Mifid
II Implementing Technical Standards (ITS), bringing greater
clarity to some of the vast European reform’s more
controversial provisions such as position reporting.
The rules, which translate how the
legislation will apply in practice, specify standard forms,
templates and procedures for a number of provisions effecting
trading venues and investment firms.
Rules covered include cooperation
arrangements for trading venue of substantial importance in a
host Member State; suspension and removal of financial
instruments from trading on venues; the authorisation of data
reporting services providers; and position reporting and weekly
