Dutch electronic market-maker expects new rules to hasten broker mergers
The founders of Dutch market-maker Webb
Traders believe the implementation of European reform Mifid II
will lead to consolidation among electronic trading firms in
the region and they see their firm as a potential buyer in that
Mifid II is currently set to take effect
in January 2017 but there is a chance it will be delayed by a
year to early 2018
after comments by European politicians last month but the
Webb Traders chiefs Marco van den Berg and Thijs Booij expect
the new regulation to have a big impact.
