CTAs suffer losses in October after last month rebounding on August losses
Commodity Trading Advisors (CTAs) continued their tumultuous
trading year in October, with all managed futures indices in
negative territory for the month, following a volatile summer,
according to Societe Generale.
Societe Generale Prime Services, compilers of the Newedge
CTA indices, said on Thursday that all of its managed futures
indices had finished October in negative territory.
The sector returned to negative performance in October
following challenging market conditions and a volatile few
months, said SocGen, with the Newedge CTA index down 1.5% in
October and down 1.18% for the year-to-date.
