Gas futures contracts are set to follow the electricity launch in 2016
The Warsaw Stock Exchange is gearing up to
launch next week its new futures platform, the Financial
Instruments Market, with financially-settled power futures as
its anchor offering.
A spokeswoman at the WSE’s
Polish power exchange Towarowa Giełda Energii (TGE) told
FOW the Financial Instruments Market will launch on Wednesday
November 4 with its cash-settled electricity futures.
The exchange plans to add
financially-settled gas futures during 2016, the next step in
TGE’s push to boost its derivatives coverage and
is also working on expansion plans for its fixed income futures
and options market.
