The new chief exec of the Singapore
Exchange pledged to expand the group’s currency
futures business as he returned impressive results for his
first quarter at the Asian group, with income and profit up
nearly a third driven by bumper trading of SGX’s
Loh Boon Chye, the former Merrill Lynch
banker who became head of SGX on July 14, said on Wednesday
boosting liquidity on its stock market and the diversification
of the SGX group by increasing its foreign exchange derivatives
market are among his key priorities.
