EC is reviewing the post-Mifid II application of CRD IV to commodity traders
The European Commission
said it is looking at changes to the European capital
requirements regulation (CRD IV) that would see commodity
traders remain exempt from the tough capital rules after the
implementation of Mifid II.
Speaking at the LME
conference on Monday, Martin Merlin, head of unit,
Directorate-General for financial stability at the European
Commission, said the regulator would review the post-Mifid II
application of CRD IV to commodity traders as part of its
recent call for evidence on the EU regulatory
