HKEx saw volumes up 26% on September last year but down 7% on August
The Hong Kong Exchange
(HKEx) enjoyed another strong month in September, with volumes
up a quarter on last year, but volumes continued to slip back
from the highs seen in the summer following the Chinese stock
HKEx said total monthly
volumes reaching 15.7 million contracts, up 26% on September
last year but down 7% on August.
Options volumes fell
11.3% month-on-month to 9.2 million contracts, a second month
of double digit declines. The exchange’s largest
segment, stock options, recorded the biggest declines, falling
17% month-on-month to 6.6 million contracts.
