Carlson Tong will head up the Hong Kong markets regulator for a further three years
Hong Kong markets
regulator the Securities and Futures Commission (SFC) said on
Friday it had reappointed chairman Carlson Tong on a three-year
term, effective October 20.
Tong has headed up the
regulator since October 2012, after he joined the regulator as
a non-executive director in April 2011. Prior to joining the
regulator, Tong spent over three decades at global accountancy
firm KPMG. He was appointed chair of KPMG in China and Hong
Kong in 2007, and took over as chair of KPMG Asia Pacific in
