The European clearing house said FRAs are well-suited to compression services
LCH.Clearnet is set to expand its swaps
compression service to include Forward Rate Agreements in
October, marking the latest expansion for a service that is
proving popular among large swaps firms.
LCH’s Swapclear unit said it
plans to extend a particular type of compression known as
blended compression to include FRAs from next month, offering
another opportunity for firms to reduce the value of
over-the-counter derivatives on their balance sheets.
