Jeffery Sprecher, chief
executive of the Intercontinental Exchange, has said exchange
operator delayed the launch of its planned Singapore exchange
to the fourth quarter of the year to give clients more time to
set up in the jurisdiction.
Speaking on the
company’s second quarter earnings call on
Wednesday, Sprecher told investors: "We are anxious to launch
our Singapore exchange and clearing house, we’ve
done all the work we’ve needed to do, put the
staff in place, the systems in in place and are basically ready
