John Ruskin and Alex Gerskowitch have in the past year been quietly building the COEX business in Europe and the US
COEX Partners, the nascent broker founded
last year by futures legend John Ruskin, is taking shape and
already its rivals are sitting up and taking notice.
Ruskin, who left French broker Newedge two
years ago, and his COEX co-founder Alex Gerskowitch, a former
colleague at Newedge, have spent most of the past year building
a management team in Europe and the US.
Their combined credentials are impressive,
Ruskin is a former Liffe trader who went
on to be the founder and chief executive of Cube Financial from
its creation in 1998 to its sale to Societe
Generale’s Fimat in 2006, and then the global head
of financial futures at Newedge before leaving that firm in
July 2013 as it was being prepped for sale to Societe
