London arm of the Chicago broker has applied for Category 2 membership
RJ O’Brien has applied to
become a member of the London Metal Exchange, marking the US
commodities broker’s first direct participation in
the global base metals market.
The LME, which is owned by Hong Kong
Exchanges and Clearing, said in a client statement on Wednesday
that RJ O’Brien had applied to be category 2
associate member, the second highest membership that offers
owners full trading rights but not a seat on the
LME’s famous trading floor.
