UK central bank introduced CBEST vulnerability testing in May 2014
Some 11 City firms have started testing
the security of their computer systems under a voluntary Bank
of England scheme, underlining a growing awareness of
cybersecurity among financial firms.
Bank of England governor Mark Carney said
in Tuesday’s Treasury Select Committee (TSC)
meeting that 11 companies within the 'core of the
UK’s financial system’ - including
the Bank of England - have now started the process of CBEST
testing, which covers software, hardware, personnel-based
Five of the 11 have completed their first
testing round, according to the UK central bank.
