The group will next year launch its new trading platform, CBOE Vector
CBOE Holdings, the Chicago based exchange
operator, has set July 23 for the launch of its new VIX weekly
futures contracts on the CBOE Futures Exchange, to offer
traders increased convergence to the VIX cash index.
The addition of the new expiry has been
driven by demand from clients, said vice president and
department head for institutional and international business
development at CBOE Paul Stephens.
"We are adding a new expiration to offer
greater choice and support traders in the fine-tuning of their
trading strategies. We are already calculating the VIX so by
offering a weekly expiration, we are hoping to improve the time
value," Stephens told FOW.
