Firm's power initiative ramped up last week with launch of eight new power contracts
CME Group said it plans to create a
pan-European power futures suite to attract volumes from
regional incumbents just a week after commencing phase one of
its European power play.
The derivatives exchange last Monday launched CME Europe’s
power initiative with the launch of eight European power
Henrik Hasselknippe, senior director for
energy Europe, Middle East and Africa, at CME Group, told FOW
on Monday: "Looking ahead, there are some gaps to fill across
the European utility space. Our goal is to be able to offer
clients a full suite of contracts across the European power
market. This is a key focus for CME Europe," he said.
