As we race toward impending changes to
regulation, industry leaders are focused on creating clearing
offerings that go beyond the traditional model, though the
challenge between innovation and standardisation remains an
important undercurrent in development.
Understanding of clearing and education
around requirements has improved across the market, panellists
agreed, leaving firms able to dedicate time and resources to
develop their clearing models.
"We are developing a cost-effective model
and within this, operational excellence must be exactly that,
excellent," said Matthias Graulich, chief client officer at
Eurex Clearing. "Aspects such as quick on-boarding and being
able to offer multiple accounts are important; clients are
interested in the practical details."
