The CFTC hinted that an agreement with Europe is imminent
The chairman of the Commodity Futures Trading Commission
said he is confident he is making good progress with the
Europeans over clearing house equivalence, marking the latest
assurance in a long-running disagreement.
Tim Massad told a conference in London key issues have been
resolved and the two sides remain confident of a resolution in
the near future.
Massad said: "The fact is I believe we are making good
progress. I expect that we will get there. Lord
Jonathan Hill and I had a very good discussion last month."
