CME this week said it will launch a suite of eight power futures contracts in June
The European Energy Exchange (EEX) has
said that it will on June 22 list financially-settled Belgian
and Dutch power futures contracts, marking the latest in a
flurry of developments in the European power market.
With the additions, EEX becomes the first
exchange to offer cash-settled futures contracts for Belgian
and Dutch power contracts.
Europe’s largest energy
exchange has offered trading in Belgian and Dutch power futures
as physically settled contracts since September 2013.
