CME, Eurex and CBOE saw volumes fall with equity and rates segments down
Early trading results
suggest April was another difficult month for European and US
exchanges with volumes following the downward trends seen in
The CME Group, the
world’s largest exchange group, saw volume hit 252
million contracts, a 2% decline from April 2014 matching
similar declines seen in March.
derivatives were down 14% year-on-year with Eurodollar futures
volume hit particularly hard, down 18%. Treasury futures
declined 17% while treasury options were down a fifth compared
to last year.
